Yola postponed a series of February 2022 tour dates due to COVID-19. The singer-songwriter will now perform 10 headlining shows originally scheduled for next month in September.
“Whilst Yola, the band & crew, cannot wait to get back on the road, the continuing threat of COVID to the live music industry is very real, and makes touring too uncertain,” wrote Yola’s team in an announcement on social feeds. “The future is brighter, we have high hopes for spring and we can’t wait to see you on the road,” added Team Yola. “In the meantime, get boosted, stay safe and look after each other.
The Grammy-nominated artist also shared a video message to her fans. “I’m bummed we had to reschedule [the tour dates]. But, also, I’m really thinking about the safety of my crew and my band and my fans, all of you who I love dearly — especially if you have loved ones who are in vulnerable groups,” Yola said. “I really want to make sure that we’re doing this safely. I know you can’t wait to hear this record live. Hell, we can’t wait to play for you live so please get vaxxed.”
Yola will now start her headlining tour in support of Stand For Myself with two nights at the legendary Ryman Auditorium in her current hometown of Nashville on March 3 and 4. The British singer first heads to Mexico to participate in Brandi Carlile’s Girls Just Wanna Weekend 3 destination event on February 2. February concerts moved to September include stops in Minneapolis, Des Moines (Iowa), St. Louis, Chicago, Milwaukee, Charlottesville (Virginia), New York City, Boston, Philadelphia and Washington D.C.
