80/35 Music Festival Announces 2022 Lineup: Father John Misty, Charli XCX, Japanese Breakfast, More

80/35 will return to Des Moines, IA’s Western Gateway Park in 2022 with a lineup headed by Father John Misty and Charli XCX. Scheduled for July 8th and 9th, this year’s 80/35 will mark its first after a two-year, pandemic-induced layoff.

The 13th edition of 80/35, a nonprofit music festival presented by the Des Moines Music Coalition, will feature over forty acts across three stages—two of which will be free—in addition to pop-up stages throughout the weekend. Along with Father John Misty’s headlining set on night one, Friday performances will also include Japanese BreakfastGuided by VoicesTkay MaidzaPachymanMeet Me @ The Altar, and Hannah Marks: Outsider, Outlier.

Joining Charli XCX on Saturday night will be Future Islands, Jamila WoodsMonoNeonThe Envy CorpsVendedBLACKSTARKIDS, Haiku HandsGeeseEvann McIntosh, and Miloe. Furthermore, organizers for 80/35 promise the announcement of many more musical acts over the coming weeks and months.

“We could not be more excited to return to downtown Des Moines for the first 80/35 since 2019,” said Mickey Davis, Executive Director of the Des Moines Music Coalition in a press release. “Since 2008 the festival has become an essential part of the fabric of summer in Des Moines, and we look forward to celebrating the musicians, music fans, music industry workers, and volunteers who make this festival so special.”
