Magic Mountain Ski Area and Whirlygig Music announce the 3rd “almost” annual Dead of Summer Music Festival. Early bird tickets will go on sale February 25th at 10:00 am

Join fellow Deadheads and merry festival-goers for The Dead of Summer Music Festival 3 at scenic Magic Mountain Ski Area in Londonderry, Vermont, happening July 9th, 2022. Gates open at 11am and music starts at noon. You’ll get five great bands for one low price ($45 early bird special!). The promoters want everyone to know that the festival will be a rain-or-shine event.

This year’s lineup includes Vermont-based favorites Rick Redington and the Luv; Rolling Thunder Revival- A Tribute to Bob Dylan; Deadgrass, a string band adventure through Jerry Garcia’s musical world; and Dead Man’s Waltz, seamlessly interweaving the music of the Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers and The Band. Headlining this year’s festival will be the legendary Max Creek. This summer, the band celebrates over half a century of making music.

ABOUT RICK REDINGTON AND THE LUV

Trying not to conform to any of the kitschy and sometimes degrading “labels” while still paying respectful homage to the greats that have helped form their core, Rick Redington & The Luv deliver shows with a style and class and heartfelt achievement that has taken years of wins and losses to develop. They describe themselves as “an organically homegrown Green Mountain Rock & Rastabilly Trio of Free-Range human beings hell bent on doing it all on their own!”

ABOUT ROLLING THUNDER REVIVAL

One-time Bob Dylan band leader/bass Player Rob Stoner has put together an all-star tribute to his former boss. Stoner served as Dylan’s musical director and bassist for Dylan’s legendary Rolling Thunder tours in the mid 1970s. He is also responsible for the arrangements and music from many of those tours.

ABOUT DEADGRASS

Matt Turk and Grammy Award winning Guitarist C Lanzbom joined forces to form Deadgrass, a string band adventure through Jerry Garcia’s musical world. Bassist Dave Richards and fiddler Kensuke Shoji complete this fine group of seasoned pros exploring the life works of Jerry Garcia on the instruments that first inspired him. Deadgrass celebrates and interprets the music of Jerry Garcia, drawing from Old & In The Way, JGB, Jerry’s Jug Band and The Grateful Dead.

ABOUT DEAD MAN’S WALTZ

Interweaving the classic songs and jams of The Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers Band and The Band, Dead Man’s Waltz (formerly Steal Your Peach) is an all-star collective from the Northeast festival scene. Dead Man’s Waltz features top-notch musicianship and offers a refreshing twist to the music of three legendary and iconic bands. While staying true to the spirit of the music, the band members put their own dynamic spin on a vast catalog of beloved songs that are now part of the new American songbook.

ABOUT MAX CREEK

In those rare instances that a band reaches its sixth decade, it’s usually a result of stardom. It’s easy enough to keep things together when each member has a jet and techs on retainer and the world tour rolls around every few years. But that’s not how Max Creek has done it. In 50+ years Max Creek has been small, big, regionally-huge, medium, and any other size one can think of; they’ve never graced the cover of Rolling Stone, but you’d be hard-pressed to find a music fan in the Northeast that hadn’t heard of them.
