Star Kitchen, the funky quartet led by The Disco Biscuits bassist Marc Brownstein, will land at The Maison in New Orleans on Friday, May 6th for a cosmic potluck during Jazz Fest featuring an impressive krewe of party guests [get tickets].
As Brownstein has noted on various occasions, Star Kitchen was conceived as a vehicle for such collaborative outings as Jazz Fest after dark. In the true spirit of Fest by Nite, the core Star Kitchen quartet—which features Brownstein alongside Marlon Lewis (Lauryn Hill, John Legend) on drums, Danny Mayer (Eric Krasno Band) on guitar, and Rob Marscher (Addison Groove Project, Matisyahu) on keys—will be joined by plug-and-play brass trio The Horn Section and powerhouse vocalist Shira Elias for the New Orleans get-together.
Prior to Star Kitchen’s main course at the Frenchmen Street club, keyboardist Aron Magner (The Disco Biscuits), bassist George Gekas (The Revivalists), guitarist Tim Palmieri (Lotus), and drummer Alvin Ford Jr. (Pretty Lights Live Band) will sweeten the deal with the debut of their never-before-seen supergroup, Honeypot.
