Red Hot Chili Peppers have been added to the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival 2022 lineup. RHCP will headline on Sunday, May 1 of Jazz Fest taking place at the Fairgrounds on April 29 – May 1 and May 5 – 8.
Red Hot Chil Peppers — vocalist Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea, drummer Chad Smith and guitarist John Frusciante — are returning to Jazz Fest for the first time since 2016 and are stepping in for Foo Fighters who canceled their tour dates in the wake of Taylor Hawkins tragic death. RHCP join previously announced headliners The Who, Stevie Nicks, Jimmy Buffett, Luke Combs, Lionel Richie and The Black Crowes.
Also set to perform are Willie Nelson & Family, Erykah Badu, The Avett Brothers, Norah Jones, Lauren Daigle, Ludacris, Billy Strings, Nelly, Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit, Elvis Costello & The Imposters, Death Cab for Cutie, Ziggy Marley, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, The Revivalists, Lukas Nelson & Promise Of The Real George Porter Jr. & Runnin’ Pardners, Melissa Etheridge, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Tank & The Bangas, Cyril Neville, Leo Nocentelli, Irma Thomas, Big Freedia, The War & Treaty and more.
