64

The Who served as the musical guests on Friday’s episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Footage featuring the iconic rock ‘n’ roll band’s “Behind Blue Eyes” performance from a concert held last month at London’s Royal Albert Hall aired on Colbert last night.

The Who went acoustic at Royal Albert Hall for a 16-song show on March 25 featuring a number of rarities. The concert, a benefit for Teenage Cancer Trust, marked the band’s return to the stage for the first time since early 2020.

“Behind Blue Eyes” came early in the evening at Royal Albert Hall. The song penned by guitarist Pete Townshend was originally released on the band’s 1971 studio album, Who’s Next.

The Who’s appearance on Colbert aired in support of the group’s upcoming North American Tour. The Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer’s The Who Hits Back! excursion begins on Friday, April 22 with a concert in Hollywood, Florida. A spring leg continues through May 28 with a fall leg running from October 2 until November 5.
