Twiddle got its April tour underway with a Saturday show at College Street Music Hall in New Haven, CT. The show, which featured opening support from Dogs In A Pile, marked the second of the Burlington, VT quartet’s monthlong jaunt. The evening also hosted an array of special guests including Jimmy Law (Dogs In A Pile), Dave Peck (aka videographer mk devo), and luthier Dan Neafsey.
Saturday’s concert once again saw Adrian Tramontano (Kung Fu) fill in for drummer Brook Jordan, who on Thursday announced he would sit out Twiddle’s April tour to continue his substance abuse recovery. The show kicked off with “Syncopated Healing” ahead of a rendition of Twiddle’s latest single, the Anders Beck-assisted “Distance Makes The Heart“. Next up was “Every Soul” followed by a cover of Grateful Dead‘s “Eyes of the World” featuring Dan Neafsey, the custom guitar builder behind Mihali Savoulidis‘s ax. After Neafsey departed the stage, Twiddle closed out the first frame with “Doinkinbonk!!!”.
Returning for the second set, Twiddle opened up with “Latin Tang” followed by “Grandpa Fox”. The band then invited up Peck, who streamed the entire show for free via the band’s YouTube channel. Peck went from behind the camera to center stage as he led the band in a rendition of Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ “Give It Away”. The videographer also fronts a Chili Peppers cover band, Good Time Boys, with Tim Palmieri (Lotus), Tramontano, and Ron Spears (formerly of The Breakfast).

Still not finished with the cavalcade of special guests, Twiddle welcomed Jimmy Law to add some extra guitar on “Apples” to close the second set. Returning to the College Street Music Hall’s stage one more time, Twiddle closed out the show with “When It Rains It Poors”.
