The Disco Biscuits keyboardist Aron Magner performed his first solo concert at Ophelia’s Electric Soap Box in Denver last Thursday night (April 7). Guitarist DJ Williams of Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe/Shots Fired opened the show and joined Magner on a cover of Nirvana’s “Heart Shaped Box.”

Magner’s first public solo piano (and synthesizer) performance came ahead of the Disco Biscuits’ two-night run at Denver’s Mission Ballroom that kicked off last night. Friday’s concert saw the band split their newly released single “Evolve,” which was written by Magner and came out on earlier that day, between the first and second sets.

Magner’s show Thursday night also featured a solo arrangement of “Evolve.” The keyboardist additionally offered takes on Bisco favorites such as “The Unspoken Rhyme,” “Rock Candy,” “Spy” “Orch Theme” and “Little Shimmy In A Conga Line.” Magner also played “Octomesh,” the studio single he released last year.
