Almost a year after going the distance with Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition boxing match, Logan Paul says he’s still waiting to receive his full fight purse.
Paul recently spoke to TMZ at the grand opening of New York’s Hard Rock Hotel, where he claimed that Mayweather still owes him “a few mil” following the pair’s unjudged bout, which generated an estimated $50 million from 1 million pay-per-view buys.
“No, he has not paid me in full,” Logan told the outlet, per Complex. “That is a fact. Short a few mil.”
When asked if the matters might be settled outside of the courtroom via communication with Mayweather’s camp, Paul doubled down.
“Nah,” he told her. “We’re taking this one to court. See you in the courtroom. Congrats on going to prison, Floyd.”
Paul hasn’t revealed a specific sum owed, but that the contract obligated him to 10 percent of earnings, which amounts to an estimated $5 million.
This isn’t the first time he’s spoken about taking legal action against Mayweather since the pair squared off for eight rounds on Showtime.
In February, he told TMZ that overzealousness was partially to blame for the money missing from his bank account.
“It’s honestly bullshit,” Paul told TMZ. “Like, having people who aren’t a professional promotional company control where the money goes, we made that mistake.”
He added, “It’s Floyd Mayweather. Before we fought him, we were kind of willing to do whatever. Now after the fact, we’re kind of shooting ourselves in the foot because he’s a fucking scumbag.”
Mayweather countered Pauls claims on The Pivot Podcast with current and former NFL Stars Channing Crowder, Fred Taylor and Ryan Clark.
“This comes with the territory,” Mayweather said. “To them, that’s real money, and I like the YouTubers. The money on the back end though, from pay-per-view, that takes a while. Nothing comes right away. I’m still collecting checks from fights seven or eight years ago. They just hate when the table is turned. Be happy with the biggest payday you ever got in your life.”
