Sheryl Crow Welcomes Ivan Neville For Rolling Stones Cover At Beachlife Festival

53

Sheryl Crow delivered a set at the Beachlife Festival in Redondo Beach, California on Sunday. The singer-songwriter welcomed keyboardist Ivan Neville for a cover from The Rolling Stones.

Crow kicked things off with her 1996 hit “If It Makes You Happy.” Sheryl filled the set with additional classics from her catalog including “A Change Would Do You Good,” “All I Wanna Do,” “My Favorite Mistake,” “Can’t Cry Anymore,” “Everyday Is A Winding Road” and more. The singer-songwriter also offered a live debut of her new ballad “Forever,” which appears on the soundtrack to the recently Showtime documentary Sheryl.

Following “Forever,” Neville joined Crow for The Rolling Stones’ “Live With Me” off their 1969 album Let It Bleed. Crow is a longtime friend and collaborator of The Stones, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. She recorded a version of “Live With Me” with Jagger for the Sheryl doc and recently performed the song on Howard Stern’s radio program.

Sheryl’s guest at Beachlife, Ivan Neville, is also a longtime collaborator of The Stones and Keith Richards as a member of the X-Pensive Winos. With Neville on organ, Sheryl led the band through “Live With Me” and played harmonica on the tune, which Jagger handled on the recent studio version.
