Dopapod on Tuesday shared pro-shot footage of the band’s live debut of “Fannie”, recorded at Mr. Smalls Theatre in Pittsburgh, PA on January 29th. The single, released earlier this month, will appear on the band’s forthcoming self-titled album, out on May 27th.

“Fannie” showed up in the two slot of the second set, segueing out of the frame-opening “Grow”. Emerging from the jam-ending ethereal soundscape, guitarist Rob Compa warned audiences that the band was going to try out a new tune, “It’s just for you guys, you’re the first ones who get to hear it.”

Thanks to technology, however, the entire Dopafam can enjoy the eerie new composition, which floated into some Floydian territories before Eli Winderman broke it down on the clavinet. Compa remained an active participant in the extended telling with his David Gilmour guitar licks. An experiment in delayed gratification, “Fannie” proved itself as a second set slow-burner in Dopapod’s continuously growing catalog.
