Few bands leave a legacy that marks them as a truly special, once-in-lifetime type band, and no band has done all that and had as much fun as Leftover Salmon. They were pivotal in creating a musical climate where bands schooled in the traditional rules of bluegrass could break free of those bonds, using nontraditional instrumentation and tapping into their innate ability to push songs in new psychedelic directions live.

Their story is one of tragedy and rebirth, of unimaginable highs and crushing lows, of friendships, of music, but most importantly it is the story of a special band and those that have lived through it all to create, inspire, and have everlasting fun. Since their earliest days, they were unafraid to stir in any number of highly combustible styles into their ever-evolving sound.

From their role as pioneers of the modern jam-band scene, to their current status as influential elder-statesmen, LoS has been a crucial link in keeping the traditional music of the past alive, simultaneously pushing forward with their own weirdly unique style.

On Tuesday, May 24, and Wednesday, May 25, Leftover Salmon will make their much-anticipated return to Tennessee to perform at The Station Inn in Nashville.

Both shows will stream live at 8 p.m. ET on Volume.com!

“I live in Nashville now and am amazed at the amount and diversity of the music found everywhere in this town. There’s an incredibly creative air to this place,” says Leftover Salmon co-founder Vince Herman. “Oh and there’s an amazing Cajun restaurant in Goodlettsville called Lagniappe. Best food in town for my palate. The Station Inn was a ‘must to go to’ and any time we had a night off in Nashville I’d be there. The Gulch has grown up all around it and the towering glass all around it makes it feel even more like a refuge for musicians.”

The band is also heading back to the studio for their next album. “Very psyched to do another record with the folks at Compass Records,” says Herman. “It’s been a long time since we recorded the Nashville sessions here and we’re hoping to have as much fun as ever back in Nashville.”
