My Morning Jacket Cancels Louisville Concerts After Jim James Tests Positive For COVID-19

My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James tested positive for COVID-19 leading the band to cancel their upcoming concerts in Louisville. The quintet was supposed to play hometown shows at the Iroquois Amphitheater on Friday and at Waterfront Park on Saturday.

“This is upsetting for everybody involved and we are deeply sorry to everyone who made plans to come see us from near and afar,” wrote My Morning Jacket in an announcement shared on social feeds. “We have been vigilant about staying safe and bubbled and have done everything we can do to protect ourselves from infection during this time.”

My Morning Jacket are aiming to announce new Louisville dates in the future but for now have canceled this weekend’s concerts outright. Refunds for Iroquois and Waterfront tickets are available via point of purchase. Read the full note from the band below:

As noted above, the band hopes to resume the tour on Tuesday, June 28 in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
