Bob Dylan dusted off a cover of Johnny Mercer’s “That Old Black Magic” during his tour-closing concert on Wednesday in Denver. The rare change to Bob’s setlist in recent years came towards the end of his show at Temple Hoyne Buell Theatre.
Dylan’s performance in Denver concluded the latest leg of his tour in support of 2020’s Rough And Rowdy Ways. The leg began in Spokane, Washington on May 28 and ran through Wednesday’s second night at Temple Hoyne Buell Theatre.

Hear Bob Dylan Perform ‘Isis’ At Madison Square Garden In 1975
The legendary musician utilized the same setlist for 37 shows in a row before Dylan busted out a cover of the Grateful Dead’s “Friend Of The Devil” in Oakland on June 12. Two additional “Friend Of The Devil” plays followed and then Bob brought back the song it replaced, “Every Grain Of Sand.”
Dylan went back to the tried and true setlist focusing on songs from Rough And Rowdy Ways along with a handful of classics with a slight change coming last night. In came “That Old Black Magic” and out went “Melancholy Mood.” Both songs were famously recorded by Frank Sintatra. Wednesday marked Bob’s first “That Old Black Magic” performance since July 25, 2017 as per Setlist.FM.
Bob Dylan is expected to resume the Rough And Rowdy Ways Tour later this year.
