Dead & Company will bring back their Playing In The Sand destination event next January. The concert vacation experience featuring three full performances from the band will take place at Moon Palace Cancún in Rivera Cancún, Mexico January 14 – 17, 2023.
The group consisting of Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann along with John Mayer, Jeff Chimenti and Oteil Burbridge first held Playing In The Sand in 2018 and returned to Mexico the following January and in 2020. The 2022 installments, which were supposed to be held over consecutive weekends this past January, were canceled due to COVID-19.
Dead & Company completed an extensive summer tour with two nights at Citi Field in New York City last month. Today’s announcement officially puts to rest a report Dead & Company would stop touring after 2022.
All-inclusive Playing In The Sand 2023 packages go up for grabs to the general public next Friday, August 19 at 1 p.m. ET.
