Primavera Sound shared pro-shot video of The National’s recent set at the festival. The performance took place on June 3 at the Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona, Spain.
The National took the stage at Primavera just under a week after performing for the first time in three years in Pamplona, Spain. The rockers stuck to a similar set in Barcelona, opening the show with “Don’t Swallow The Cap” from Trouble Will Find Me. The band leaned heavily on their Grammy-nominated 2013 album including “I Need My Girl,” “This Is The Last Time,” “Pink Rabbits” and “Graceless.”
The National also included two of three new songs they unveiled in Pamplona, “Grease in Your Hair (Birdie)” and “Tropic Morning News (Haversham).” Additonally, the Cincinnati-born rockers offered favorites like “Bloobuzz Ohio,” “The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness,” “Light Years” and “Fake Empire.” The National closed out the set with “About Today” from their 2004 EP, Cherry Tree.
