Queen Unearths Previously Unreleased Track With Freddie Mercury Vocals

24

Queen shared a previously unreleased track, “Face It Alone,” featuring Freddie Mercury vocals. The song is from the sessions for the legendary rockers’ 1989 album, The Miracle, which is set to receive the special edition reissue treatment with the release of The Miracle Collector’s Edition on November 18.

During the revisiting of The Miracle sessions for the upcoming reissue — which includes more previously unreleased material and other goodies — the band’s production and archive team discovered “Face It Alone,” which guitarist Brian May called “beautiful” and “touching.”

“I’m happy that our team were able to find this track,” May continued. “After all these years, it’s great to hear all four of us … yes, [Queen bassist John] Deacy [Deacon] is there too … working in the studio on a great song idea which never quite got completed … until now!”

“We’d kind of forgotten about this track,” drummer Roger Taylor noted, “but there it was, this little gem. It’s wonderful, a real discovery. It’s a very passionate piece.”

“Face It Alone” marks the first Queen cut with Freddie’s vocals to be released in more than eight years. Check out the lyric video below:
