43

Hiss Golden Messenger recently released a live album entitled Troupe Of Very Remarkable Trained Pigs featuring the band’s performance at a house party in Walla Walla, Washington on February 26, 2022. The 13-song performance is available for purchase and streaming via Bandcamp and nugs.net.

Troupe Of Very Remarkable Pigs marks the fourth installment in Hiss Golden Messenger’s live series launched back in August. The HGM touring lineup consisting of M.C. Taylor on guitar and vocals, guitarist Chris Boerner, bassist Alex Bingham, keyboardist Sam Fribush and drummer Nicolas Falk played the intimate Billsville West for the concert documented on the new release as part of a West Coast swing.

The set included such beloved originals as “Jenny Of The Roses,” “Saturday’s Song” and “My Wing,” along with covers of the Grateful Dead’s “Bird Song” and Merle Haggard’s “Mama Tried.” Luc Suèr captured the recording on the Hiss Mobile Recording Unit.
