Dave Grohl & Greg Kurstin Close ‘Hanukkah Sessions’ With Randy Newman’s “I Love L.A.” [Watch]

Dave Grohl and Greg Kurstin put a bow on the Hanukkah Sessions on Sunday with Randy Newman‘s “I Love L.A.”. While the song featured a stable of special guests from throughout the series, it was Grohl who took home the singer-songwriter’s ode to The City of Angels.

Over on the lucky West Coast that missed out on the arctic blast that altered holiday travel plans in the Eastern United States, Grohl probably isn’t the only one that loves L.A. this year. This cover is more reminiscent of the 2020 and 2021 pandemic Hanukkah Sessions, as the Foo Fighters frontman and his producer showed off the strength of their duo sound.

Joining them to close out the 2022 holiday season are Tenacious D‘s Jack Black and Kyle GassP!nkInara George, Karen O, and Beck, who all appeared in their own Hanukkah Sessions videos. The wealth of musical talent onstage at the concert filmed at L.A.’s Largo on December 5th just reinforces why Grohl, Kurstin, and Newman all love L.A.

“Merry Christmukkah! Our nondenominational gift to you on this convergence of holiday cheer for the Jews and the goyim is Randy Newman’s classic ‘I Love L.A.’ — sung by Dave Grohl!” The video’s description reads.
