Watch Umphrey’s McGee Ring In 2023: Pro-Shot Video

Umphrey’s McGee spent the final moments of 2022 onstage at the Coca-Cola Roxy in Atlanta. The band shared pro-shot video of the lead-up to midnight on New Year’s Eve featuring Mad Dog & His Filthy Little Secret horns joining them on “Partyin’ Peeps.”

Guitarists Jake Cinninger and Brendan Bayliss, bassist Ryan Stasik, keyboardist Joel Cummins, drummer Kris Myers and percussionist Andy Farag are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the band throughout 2023. As the clock approached midnight on December 31, Bayliss addressed the audience, saying:

“We cannot thank you guys enough for choosing to spend the end of this year with us. And the start of next year with us. It’s been a fucked up year, it’s been a fucked up couple of years, but we all got through it together … So we can’t thank you enough, we mean that shit – you say it, but we mean it: thank you, thank you, thank you, happy New Year!”

Played a few times after the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve over the years, “Partyin’ Peeps” had never been chosen as the pre-countdown song prior to this year.
