The Flaming Lips Add ‘Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots’ 20th Anniversary Concerts

The Flaming Lips confirmed additional tour dates celebrating the 20th anniversary of their album, Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots. The new dates will see the band performing the 2002 album in its entirety.

New Yoshimi shows follow previously announced celebratory performances in Chicago on May 5 and at Atlanta’s Shaky Knees Festival on May 7, with 20th-anniversary shows in Charlotte, North Carolina on May 8; in Knoxville, Tennessee on May 10; and in Nashville on May 11. They join previously announced stops at the Echoland Music Festival (May 11 – 13), in Washington D.C. (May 25), and at Boston Calling (May 27).

After headlining the Cathead Jam on June 3, The Flaming Lips will celebrate Yoshimi on June 8 in Brooklyn. The 20th-anniversary run then heads to Cleveland on June 11, Milwaukee on June 13, St. Louis on June 14, Omaha, Nebraska on June 16 and Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 17.

Frontman Wayne Coyne and his bandmates will hit the West Coast starting in Los Angeles on August 18. The group then hits up Portland on August 22, Seattle on August 23 and Bonner, Montana on August 25.

Pre-sale tickets will be available on Thursday, March 2 at 10 a.m. local venue time. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, March 3 at 10 a.m. local time.
