Con Brio Unveils Gritty New Single ‘Traunch’

Genre-defying Bay Area band Con Brio released the bombastic new song “Traunch” along with a video featuring an in-studio performance. The song is set to land on Scream At It, an album due out from the seven-piece outfit this summer.

Scream At It will be Con Brio’s first full-length record showcasing new vocalist Sarah Clarke. Both Clarke and multi-instrumentalist AJ McKinley joined the group in the wake of the pandemic. Con Brio’s current lineup is rounded out by guitarist Benjamin Andrews, bassist Jonathan Kirchner, drummer Andrew Laubacher, saxophonist Marcus Stephens and trumpeter Brendan Liu.

“Traunch” is a raw and gritty rocker filled with angular riffs from Andrews. Clarke’s potent singing rides atop a throbbing beat propelled by Kirchner and Laubacher.

Sarah Clarke shared the following about “Traunch” with Glide Magazine:

“We didn’t hold back a bit on this one! We recorded this track live in the studio and did it in a single take! The song’s name describes the feel of the song, acknowledging both the trudge in the rhythm section and the shameless raunchiness of the lyrics. The gritty vibe the band created was begging for an impactful message – powerful and sexy.”
