Guitarist Eric Clapton will bring together an all-star cast of musicians for a pair of concerts honoring Jeff Beck, who died in January at age 78. The lineup for the shows slated for May 22 and 23 at London’s Royal Albert Hall features Beck’s former bandmate Rod Stewart, as well as Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi and many more.
According to the announcement from Clapton and Beck’s widow Sandra Beck, the participating musicians are expected to perform at both concerts. In addition to Clapton, Stewart, Tedeschi and Trucks, the preliminary roster of participants includes Billy Gibbons, John McLaughlin, Robert Randolph, Gary Clark Jr., Joss Stone, Doyle Bramhall, Imelda May, Johnny Depp and Olivia Safe. Members of the Jeff Beck Band, Rhonda Smith, Anika Nilles and Robert Stevenson, will also be part of the tribute concerts. Additional performers are expected to be added.
Tickets go on sale Wednesday, March 15 at 10 a.m. local time via the Royal Albert Hall box office and BookingsDirect.com.
