Follow Reed Mathis To ‘Gamehendge’ After Phish At The Greek

31

Reed Mathis will present a one-night-only performance of Phish‘s Gamehendge suite at the Ivy Room in Albany, California on Monday, April 17 following Phish’s show at the nearby Greek Theatre in Berkeley. The “NOT note-for-note” “Gamehendge Variations” concert will keep in line with Mathis’ improv-heavy style and comes in tribute to the saga’s composer, Trey Anastasio.

“Gamehendge Variations” will feature Mathis on guitar accompanied by ALO bassist Steve Adams and Tea Leaf Green drummer Scott Rager. JamBase co-founder Andy Gadiel will provide narration while Benjy Eisen (Undermine podcast) will add improvisational storytelling.

Tickets for the first of three unofficial Phish after shows at Ivy Room are on sale now. Buy tickets for Reed Mathis’ “Gamehendge Variations” concert by following this link.

Reed Mathis pulled off a solo rendition of The Man Who Stepped Into Yesterday, aka Gamehendge, via livestream in the early days of the pandemic. Mathis also contributed his version of Phish’s “Bye Bye Foot” to JamBase’s Cluster Flies compilation.
