The Sound Mind Music Festival for Mental Health returns to Brooklyn on Saturday, May 20. Iron & Wine and Hiss Golden Messenger are among the acts slated to perform at the free event.
“Mental health is such a significant part of our well-being and the advocacy work Sound Mind Live does by creating dialogue and community through music is often an important first step to those in need,” Iron & Wine’s Sam Beam said of the festival and its organizers. “I’m really happy to be involved and looking forward to taking part in this year’s event.”
Sound Mind Music Festival takes place between Irving Ave and Wyckoff Ave in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Along with Iron & Wine and Hiss Golden Messenger, the event will also see performances by Langhorne Slim, KAMAUU and Pom Pom Squad along with dance parties & DJ sets in partnership with House of Yes.
Additionally, Sound Mind features “Sound Sessions – holistic mental health programming experiences including movement and yoga, mindfulness and breathwork sessions, and creative activities,” as per a press release.
