The JamBase Podcast Season Two Episodes

Wong and Dart recently spoke to JamBase’s Scott Bernstein while aboard Jam Cruise. This is the second time Wong has appeared on The JamBase Podcast. The talented guitarist previously spoke to Andy Kahn about his “Musical Mentors” for an episode that came out in February 2019.

This time around Wong and Dart chatted with Bernstein about their experiences on Jam Cruise. This was Dart’s first time participating in the floating festival at sea, while Wong was a veteran of the event. The two were on the boat to perform with The Fearless Flyers. The funky group also features drummer Nate Smith and guitarist Mark Lettieri. Dart and Wong talked about incorporating long jams into Fearless Flyers sets, a new and exciting experience that happened during one of their sets on Jam Cruise.

Vulfpeck was also a hot topic of conversation during the interview. Dart gave an intriguing response when asked if he wished the band would play live shows more often than their current typically sparse scheduling. Dart and Wong also talked about Vulfpeck’s thematic performances, like their sauna-inspired festival set that influenced their 2022 studio album Schvitz, and what else might be in store for the band in 2023 and beyond.
