Lotus percussionist Chuck Morris and his son are currently missing after going kayaking on Beaver Lake near Fayetteville, AR, the band confirmed in a social media post.
Search crews are attempting to locate the father and son, who were last seen near the Lost Bridge area of the lake. The percussionist and his family are in Arkansas for a family spring break vacation.
“We’ve got Benton County Sheriff’s Office, we’ve got our dive team, our search and rescue rescue teams,” said Lt. Shannon Jenkins with the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
Lt. Jenkins said deputies suspended the search Thursday night due to weather as sub-freezing temperatures and high winds made continuing too difficult for the search teams and dive crews. He also said one kayak and one jacket were found on Thursday and a second kayak was found on Friday morning.

“I hope that they are found alive and that they come home to me and Amelia, and if that doesn’t happen tonight, I just hope that wherever they are, they are safe and at peace,” Chuck’s wife Jennifer Thompson told the local news. A GoFundMe has been set up to help support the family. You can help by contributing here and sharing the link.
“If you are in the area or have any information or sightings of Chuck and his son, please contact local authorities. Sheriffs Office: (479) 271-1008,” Lotus wrote in a social media post. “Please share with anyone in the Beaver Lake area of Arkansas.”
The sheriff’s office is asking any boaters or people who live in the area to keep a lookout for the kayakers, and family friends are asking anyone who goes hiking in the area this weekend to keep an eye out for the two men.
If you have any information, please call 911 or the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
This is a developing story.
