There’s no shortage of enviable Rolex watches on the market, but the competition just got a bit more fierce—courtesy of the famed watch brand itself, which just unveiled another stunning lineup of timepieces at this year’s Watches and Wonders.
The luxury watch trade show is a sight to behold, kicked off in fine fashion with the announcement of an array of must-have Rolex timepieces. That announcement was led (arguably) by the 60th anniversary edition of the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona.
While it plays off the original 116500LN Cosmograph Daytona, the design retains many of the same touches while replacing the movement, case and dial, amongst other subtle touches.
“It’s hard to improve perfection, so no surprise here,” said Bob’s Watches founder & CEO Paul Altieri.
Of the original 116500LN Cosmograph, Altieri noted that “prices should rocket” for the now-discontinued model.
The triple chronograph watch notably comes in Oystersteel with a striking blue dial, as well as yellow gold and platinum (among other designs).
For those who favor a more clean, elegant build, Rolex assuredly has something for everyone, including the sleek Rolex Perpetual 1908.
The watch is a nod to the 1931 Oyster Perpetual, and worthy of any Rolex collection centered around the watchmaker’s famed dive timepieces.
The newest take on the Oyster Perpetual very well might lead to a “25-year waiting list” to get your hands on this covetable watch, Altieri said.
Rolex has no shortage of tricks up its sleeves, including the Rolex Sky-Dweller, boasting an ingenious 24-hour sub-dial and the option to outfit the timepiece with a sporty, travel-ready rubber strap. An annual calendar, for good measure, is powered by a new 9002 caliber movement.
Altieri notes that the Sky-Dweller boasts an “amazing” range of dial options.
Meanwhile, the Rolex Explorer line sees a slight shift, back to a 40mm dial as opposed to a 36mm case diameter.
The new and improved lineup is rounded out by the Rolex Yacht-Master 42, made from the company’s RLX titanium alloy and boasting a durable 42mm dial.
Don’t sleep on the stunning Rolex GMT-Master II, this time offered up on a Jubilee bracelet and boasting a handsome pairing of yellow gold, plus grey and black ceramic bezel inserts.
There’s truly something for everyone in the Rolex rotation at Watches and Wonders: Note the introduction of the Rolex Day-Date 36, which Altieri calls an ideal watch “for the fashionable woman in your life.”
Watches and Wonders 2023 is just ticking into high gear, but Rolex has set the bar very high indeed.
