The White Stripes are celebrating 20 years of their seminal album Elephant with a deluxe reissue. Alongside remastered HD audio of the original 14 tracks, Elephant (Deluxe) includes a previously unreleased complete recording of the band’s 2003 concert in Chicago.

Jack and Meg White‘s fourth album, Elephant catapulted the garage rock revolution to the top of the charts. Behind the success of the smash-hit single “Seven Nation Army”, which took home the Grammy for “Best Rock Song”, Elephant turned double platinum and peaked at #6 on the Billboard 200 while taking the top slot on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart. Today, the album’s mark on rock n’ roll from basements to stadiums is indelible.

The live component of the Elephant reissue documents a marathon 27-song performance on July 2nd, 2003 at Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom. The electrifying live set weaves Elephant tracks like “The Hardest Button to Button”, “Ball and Biscuit”, and of course “Seven Nation Army” with classic tracks like “Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground”, “Hotel Yorba”, and even a traditional cover of “Blackjack Davy”.

In honor of the album’s London roots—recorded over two weeks in 2002 at the analog Toe Rag Studios— Jack White’s Third Man Records will celebrate Elephant‘s 20th anniversary with a trio of tea parties. The free events are set for tomorrow, April 1st, at Third Man Records stores in Detroit, Nashville, and London from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. local time. Attendees who provide proof of pre-order of the Elephant limited edition colored vinyl from any retailer will go home with a bonus print of Jack and Meg from the original 2002 recording sessions by photographer David James Swanson, while supplies last.
