Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway Ride On To ‘Next Rodeo’ On New Song

21

Grammy-winning outfit Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway released the new single “Next Rodeo.” The song is the second preview of the band’s forthcoming studio album, City Of Gold, which arrives via Nonesuch Records on July 21.

Singer-songwriter and guitarist Molly Tuttle put together Golden Highway for her acclaimed 2022 LP, Crooked Tree, which took home the Best Bluegrass Album award at this year’s Grammys. The band features fiddler Bronwyn Keith-Hynes, mandolinist Dominick Leslie, bassist Shelby Means and banjoist Kyle Tuttle. Renowned dobroist Jerry Douglas produced City Of Gold and contributed to the 13-track effort, which was recorded at Sound Emporium Studios in Nashville.

“Next Rodeo” comes on the heels of City Of Gold lead single “El Dorado.” Tuttle stated the following in regards to “Next Rodeo”:

“This ain’t my first rodeo – I’ve spent most of my adult life playing shows all around the world and my new single ‘Next Rodeo’ reflects the miles I’ve put in with my band. We played 100+ shows over the past year, which led to recording our upcoming record, City of Gold. ‘Next Rodeo’ feels like a fitting metaphor for my second Golden Highway record. Going back to my bluegrass roots has felt both nostalgic and brand new and this song encapsulates my feelings as I look back on a great year and look ahead to another one full of new places, people and songs.”
