AC/DC revealed longtime bassist Cliff Williams will join the band as they come out of retirement to perform for the Power Trip Festival, their first live performance since 2016. The hard rocking three-day event is set to take place at the Empire Polo Ground in Indio, California October 6 – 8.
While longtime drummer Phil Rudd helped AC/DC record their 2020 album, Power Up, he will not play at Power Trip. Veteran rock drummer Matt Laug — who’s played with Alanis Morissette, Alice Cooper and Slash’s Snakepit among others — will be behind the kit for the legendary rockers at the festival.
Founding member and rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young sadly died in 2017. Stevie Young has filled in for his uncle throughout the years and will be on the lineup for Power Trip. Longtime vocalist Brian Johnson will front the band alongside lead guitarist and founding member Angus Young.
