Goose set up shop for a two-night run at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre in Greenwood Village, CO outside Denver over the weekend, culminating in an encore featuring the first full performance of the Autumn Crossing suite in three years. The sequence of “Travelers” parts one and two (debuted live in 2020) into “Elmeg the Wise” (introduced in 2016) comprised indie-jam band’s 2023 surprise EP of the same name. The sequence had not been performed live since the band’s 2021 Fred The Festival, per El Goose.

Saturday’s run-closing show offered plenty of highlights well before its Autumn Crossing finale. Charging out of the gate with “Turned Clouds”, Goose made all the Midwestern transplants in Denver feel welcome with a run through The Band‘s “Look Out Cleveland”. The big takeaway from the first set was a whopping 30-minute “Drive”, though that wouldn’t even wind up being the longest jam of the night: In the second set, Goose returned to the stage and immediately delivered a 34 minutes of delirious improvisation on “Madhuvan”.

To close out the second frame and the massive amphitheater, Goose issued its ninth-ever performance of Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band‘s “Hollywood Nights” dating back to 2018, back when the band was still playing small clubs. Finally, Goose retook the Fiddler’s Green stage one final time to stitch together Autumn Crossing‘s “Travelers” (featuring both parts included on the EP) and “Elmeg the Wise”. “Travelers” had not been seen since June 30th, 2023 (53 shows) and “Elmeg the Wise” not since March 12th, 2023 (88 shows).
