Amyl & The Sniffers have released ‘Big Dreams’, the latest taster of their forthcoming third studio album Cartoon Darkness. It marks the third single to be lifted from the record, following the release of ‘U Should Not Be Doing That’ in May and ‘Chewing Gum’ last month. In a press statement, lead vocalist Amy Taylor confessed that she was “actually a bit nervous” that ‘Big Dreams’ was being released as a single from the album.
“It’s so different from a lot of people’s expectations of us,” she said of the band’s latest track. “This song was written because a lot of people in my life are struggling financially, and it’s really hard to make your dreams come true when you’re trying to get by day-to-day. When I think of my friends doing what they love, and I see how good they are at it, I just know they’ve never been dull; they’ve always been lit, and there’s nothing that will break that or take it away from them.”
The band have also shared an accompanying music video for the single, which was made in collaboration with production company 1888 Productions – who also worked on the clip for ‘Chewing Gum’. The video was shot in one continuous take, with the band riding on the back of motorcycles through the Californian desert. “It was the first clip we shot for this album,” added Taylor in an additional press statement, “and it was fun as hell.” Watch the video for ‘Big Dreams’ below.

At the time of writing, no Australian tour dates had been locked in for the band in support of Cartoon Darkness. In November, however, the band will embark on a month-long European tour. Next July, too, the band will play London’s Finsbury Park opening for Fontaines D.C., alongside Kneecap.
