The Rolling Stones’ New Album Reportedly Features Bass From Paul McCartney

The Rolling Stones have hinted over the past year that their first album of new original material since 2005 is in the works and that it will include contributions from late drummer Charlie Watts and current drummer Steve Jordan. More recently there have been reports that surviving Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr also played on the album.

Variety reported the Macca/Ringo collab with The Stones yesterday (February 21) and that renowned rock producer Andrew Watt was helming the project. Today, however, Rolling Stone reported that while Paul played bass on a track, the RS source refuted that Ringo was involved.

One thing seems certain though, The Rolling Stones are working on their first new original music since 2005’s A Bigger Bang. As Variety reported, frontman Mick Jagger noted in 2021 that the band was crafting fresh tracks and just last month guitarist Keith Richards said in a Happy New Year post, “There’s some new music on its way,” and hinted at the possibility of a tour.
