Daniel Donato will take fans to a world of pure imagination for his Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-themed Halloween show. The October 31st concert at Turner Hall Ballroom in Milwaukee, WI will see the Cosmic Country guitarist and his bandmates pay tribute to the Roald Dahl children’s classic and film series.
To announce the theme, Donato issued a “Golden Ticket” on his social media. He invited fans to “Take the trip and trust the journey,” telling them to “bring with you love, light, and pure imagination. Lose your mind in the song…find yourself in all that’s wrong…….In your wildest dreams you could not imagine the everlasting SMILES that await YOU!”

Donato and his Cosmic Country desperados have been enjoying a steady and significant rise in popularity, appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last week after making their national television debut in April. This stands to be Donato’s most thematic Halloween yet, following last year’s “Trick or Train” show. For the “Trick” element, Donato utilized a digital “Wheel of Tricks” that spun to determine the first set’s songs. For the second set, Donato gave the people what they wanted with a full set of train songs, with selections from Waylon Jennings, Bob Dylan, Phish, Warren Zevon, Jimmie Rodgers, and many more. The year before that, Donato staged a fairly straightforward Halloween show opening for The Infamous Stringdusters in Columbus, OH—with a cover of the Star Wars “Cantina Theme” for flair.
