Pretty women at the Co-op – m4ww (where we get food to eat)
Sometimes when I am out grocery shopping I get distracted from acquiring the food I need to live. Especially at the Co-op, there are just too many women who I think are too pretty to ignore. So I don’t ignore:
I glance across the bulk bins, chomping on unpaid coconut chips. I tweak the brim of my expensive hat, and make sure the feather in it is poking out just so, the better to accompany my sultry gaze over the beer counter. Do I not subtly woo you, beautiful vegan yoga-goddess women, with my cheese and wine purchases? (I’ve twenty years at least of experience beyond yours to hone my selections.) Do you not find yourself internally drawn toward me, as my heavy-browed eyes peek impishly across the hot bar? Can you not see my heavy breath fogging the sneeze guard as I drool in pharmaceutically renewed libidinal ecstasy? Must you always find my charming banter so enthralling as to force you to turn away, lest you spill your true emotions for me?
This new year, I shall be braver, my loves. So long as you appear healthy and fecund, and wear anything short of hijab, I shall remain misty-eyed, cart parked in the middle of the aisle, appraising you attire and physique as I appraise my pears and apples, seeking the supplest flesh mother nature has to offer.
Next time, as I carefully sidle in line behind you, (no matter how long the line!) as I scrutinize and study your vegan basket, I will give you my undivided attention. I will leave my basket unpacked on the belt, next my plastic solo wine sample cup, and ask you about your purchases before you’ve even made them. I will offer an ephemeral description of what kind of guy I am, the concert I’m excited for, and my lake house in Ashfield, all on the spot, without anyone asking.
