Triple J’s Hottest 200 Of 2017: Live Updates

109

If you’re feeling a bit ripped off because your fave tunes of the past year didn’t make the cut for the triple J Hottest 100 of 2017, then consider this your consolation prize.

Today, the J’s will be blasting the second-Hottest 100 or ‘Hottest 200’ of 2017 — the ‘Shannon Noll of countdowns, if you will — featuring the next batch of tracks that narrowly missed out on a guernsey in the proper list.

From 10am AEDT, triple j will be firing off the #200 to the #101 most fire of 2017, revealing which tracks came behind the Hottest 100’s #100 song this year, ‘Don’t Leave’ by Snakehips & MØ.

ICYMI: This year’s Hottest hundo was taken out by Kendrick Lamar with his gamechanging hip-hop tune ‘HUMBLE’. But despite the fact that an international artist claimed the #1 spot, the rest of the list was chock-a-block with homegrown talent; 65 Aussie songs to be exact.

The Hottest 200 has become just as well-received as the main countdown in recent years, with fans curious to find out how their votes have measured up to the national taste consensus. It’s also seen as a bit of a chance to discover some hidden gems, after weeding out some of the more popular tunes.

Last year’s Hottest 200 countdown gave us Trophy Eyes’ ‘Chlorine’ and Bon Iver’s ’33 “GOD’ as the two top listed tracks to just miss out on Hottest 100 glory.

We’ll be updating the Second Hottest 100 list as it gets announced on triple j today. So keep your peepers locked on Music Feeds for all the latest additions, below.
