The likes of Tonight Alive, Hellions and Clowns are set to headline a new Australian music festival called ‘Resilience’, to help raise money for a mental health charity.

The one-day event, co-organised by Greg McManus, will take place in the New South Wales city of Lithgow this October, boasting sets from other homegrown acts like The Chats, She Cries Wolf, RED BEE and Hanny J.

“A number of people have taken their life in the area in the last 18 months and we want to raise awareness and funds to pump back into the community and support people in the area,” says McManus, who lost two of his friends to suicide last year.

Organisers say they hope the festival spotlights the services available to members of the community who might be in a rough patch, while also breaking down “the barriers and stigma surrounding mental health and suicide prevention”.

Money raised will be used to cover the festival’s costs, with any additional money going to a charity, which organisers say “will be confirmed closer to the date”.

Members of the public can also donate money to Resilience through its GoFundMe fundraiser.
