As reported, iconic hip-hop group Beastie Boys will release their long-in-the-works memoir the Beastie Boys Book on October 30. Co-authored by surviving band mates Michael “Mike D” Diamond and Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz, the 592-page tome is described as “a panoramic experience that tells the story of Beastie Boys.” Today, Diamond and Horovitz announced the Beastie Boys Book: Live & Direct brief promotional tour in support of the book.
The six-date, four-city tour will feature: “readings, conversations between Mike D, Ad-Rock and a special guest moderator, Q&A sessions — all with a live score provided by Mix Master Mike and a brand new Beastie Boys exhibit, curated by Beastie Boys and Beyond the Streets in partnership with adidas Skateboarding. Sonos will provide the sound experience at each exhibit, playing a mixtape curated by Ad-Rock and Mike D.”
The Beastie Boys Book: Live & Direct Tour kicks off with a pair New York City stops beginning in Manhattan on October 29 at Town Hall and then moving to Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre on October 30. Mike D and Ad-Rock then head out to the West Coast for appearances at Los Angeles’s Montalban Theatre on November 3 and 4 and at San Francisco’s City Arts & Lectures at Nourse Theater on November 5. The brief run will culminate on November 30 in London, England at EartH.
Tickets for Beastie Boys Book: Live & Direct will go on sale this Friday, September 28 at 10 a.m. local time with every ticket to include a physical copy of the book.
