Grateful Dead Teams With Poster Artist Justin Helton For ‘Milestones’ Series

130

Over the last 15 years, graphic artist Justin Helton has designed concert posters for acts ranging from Phish to Old Crow Medicine Show to Foo Fighters to John Prine and beyond via his Status Serigraph studio. The Knoxville, Tennessee-based artist also has a longstanding relationship with the Grateful Dead organization. Helton was named artist-in-residence for Dave’s Picks in 2016 and has issued concert prints for many Dead-related projects over the last few years.

Helton’s latest project finds him teaming up with the Grateful Dead for a new collection of limited edition screen-printed posters inspired by significant moments in the band’s history that he has dubbed “Milestones.” The first print in this ongoing series will honor the 40th anniversary of the Dead’s famed 1978 visit to Giza, Egypt to play three shows in front of the pyramids.

The poster will available for purchase only via Helton’s online store starting this Friday, September 14 at 10 a.m. ET with the on-sale window running through Sunday, September 16 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

This will be a timed release, meaning we will take orders for the release period and once it’s over we will print however many have been ordered. Once the sale is over, no more copies will be printed… so make sure to grab one while you have the chance. As long as you purchase during this time period, you are guaranteed to get a print. I often have folks complain that drops are often too hard to get on release, so with this I hope everyone that wants one, will be able to purchase.

All of the prints will be signed and numbered by me, the artist and will be available in a regular ($50) or holographic ($80) foil version. This is somewhat of a preorder so allow us a few weeks to get them to your door. That being said, printing will begin Monday morning after the sale has concluded.
