Earlier this summer, Phish announced that they would be releasing a comprehensive new CD/LP box set dubbed The Baker’s Dozen: Live At Madison Square Garden. The new set highlights the band’s exploits from their historic 13-night residency at the famed NYC arena last summer, which saw them play two themed sets each night while not repeating a single song.
The Baker’s Dozen is available in three different formats: a 3-CD or 6-LP set (with 13 tracks hand-picked by the band) and “The Complete Baker’s Dozen Box Set,” which includes the entire run on 36 CDs. Legendary engineer Elliot Scheiner (Steely Dan, Van Morrison) has remixed each show for the box set.
Today, Phish has shared pro-shot video of “Blaze On” from the Baker’s Dozen run’s “Cinnamon” night, the seventh show and midway point of the Vermont quartet’s glorious 13-night run. Returning from set break, Phish laid down a set-opening “Blaze On”, sending the Trey Anastasio-penned tune on a thrilling 20+ minute ride that goes down as one of the best versions in its relatively short life span. The band took their time to patiently navigate through an adventurous and groovy jam, reaching multiple fiery hot peaks to resoundingly cement this “Blaze On” as the crowning jewel of the evening.
