Vermont-based quartet Twiddle brought their Fall Tour to the Georgia Theatre in Athens last week. The band shared professionally-shot video featuring the 20+ minute segment that ended the first set on September 17th to their YouTube channel.
Twiddle recently debuted the original “River Drift,” a song which had previously been performed solo by frontman Mihali Savoulidis. In Athens, the four-piece band opened up the new song by jamming “River Drift” into the classic “White Light.” Twiddle then worked “White Light” into a cover of ALO’s “BBQ.” More expansive improvisation followed and eventually the band landed on the conclusion of “River Drift.” Watch the impressive “River Drift” > “White Light” > “BBQ” > “River Drift” sequence from Athens below:
As reported, Twiddle will team with Phil Lesh for a special “Phiddle” set at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York on October 31. The show with Phil comes as part of the band’s extensive Fall Tour. Mihali recently discussed “The Art Of The Setlist” for The JamBase Podcast.
