Upstate New York-based jam act Formula 5 are in the middle of a run of “Widespread’s Dead” shows featuring covers of Widespread Panic and Grateful Dead classics. The quartet recently added a handful of dates and shared footage of a Dead cover they performed this past Saturday night at The Hollow in Albany.
Formula 5 continues the tour on October 10 at Silk City in Philadelphia. The band then heads south for shows in Virginia and North Carolina before returning to the Northeast for three performances in New York. From there, F5 tours the Midwest and Colorado to end the “Widespread’s Dead” portion of the tour. On November 23, the group will keep a tradition going by performing in Albany on Black Friday. This year, Formula 5 opens for The Disco Biscuits at the Palace Theatre. Visits to New York City, New Hope, Bridgeport (Connecticut), Burlington and New Paltz (New York) are currently scheduled to bring the tour to a close.
