Fruition & The Lil Smokies Cover Railroad Earth For Andy Goessling

On Saturday night, Fruition and The Lil Smokies each performed at Brooklyn Bowl in New York City. Fruition brought out The Lil Smokies for their encore, which included a Railroad Earth cover in honor of the late Andy Goessling. Andy’s death was announced by Railroad Earth just one day earlier.

Mimi Naja gave a heartfelt speech after both bands loaded the stage for the encore. Naja introduced the collaborative cover of Railroad Earth’s “Seven Story Mountain” by discussing how RRE became colleagues and peers for them after years as teachers and inspiration. She noted how Goessling played “every instrument known to man.” Following the cover, Mimi exclaimed, “That’s for the Hobos out there!” in reference The bands finished the night with a gorgeous rendition of the Fruition original “Meet Me On The Mountain.” Watch Saturday night’s encore:
