Back in August Guster gave fans a taste of their first new studio album in four years by sharing two songs from the LP. Today, the quartet finally announced Look Alive is due January 18 on Nettwerk/Ocho Mule. Guster also confirmed an extensive tour in support of the LP.

Guster’s Look Alive tour begins at Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park, New York on January 16. From there, the band brings the run to Philadelphia, Boston, Montreal, Toronto, Rochester, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Santa Ana (California), Salt Lake City, Estes (Colorado), Denver, Omaha, Minneapolis, Missoula, Spokane, Portland, Vancouver, Seattle, Providence, Portsmouth (New Hampshire), New York City, Houston, Austin, Dallas, New Orleans, Nashville, Atlanta, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Charlotte, Covington (Kentucky), Grand Rapids and Chicago over the course of the first four months of 2019. Tickets go on sale Friday, November 2 at 12 p.m. local time.

The follow up to 2015’s Evermotion was produced by Leo Abrahams (Regina Spektor, Brian Eno/David Byrne) and tracked at a vintage keyboard museum in Calgary. Additional sessions were produced by John Congleton and Collin DuPuis. Look Alive captures the group “at an inspired moment, creating the most layered, moody and brilliantly unpredictable music of their storied career” as per press materials announcing the nine-track effort.
