Joe Marcinek Announces ‘JM3’ Album & Shares ‘Mojo’ Video: Exclusive Premiere

Guitarist Joe Marcinek is best known for the impressive and ever-changing Joe Marcinek Band lineups he puts together. Marcinek will release JM3, his third studo album on November 16. JamBase is pleased to premiere the video for JM3 track “Mojo.”

Joe Marcinek explains the story behind JM3:

As 2018 began I started thinking about a new record. The concept grew from an idea of 3’s. It would be my third album and in an organ trio setting. I was unbelievably honored to work with two of my favorite musicians in [organist] Wil Blades and [drummer] Terence Higgins. We recorded it with Ari Rios at Laughing Tiger Studios in San Rafael, California. What can you say when you start recording on April 1st? We just had so much fun in the studio and the recording perfectly captures the loose funky vibe we were all feeling. The next step owes a heavy debt to Alan Evans (Soulive) as I’ve been very fortunate to have worked with him a few times over the past year in the Joe Marcinek Band. Alan mixed the record at Iron Wax Studios and then recommended a few key people to help me finish things. He connected me with Brad Smalling at Evergroove Studios for mastering and Charley Robinson at Iconoclast Design Co. for the amazing artwork!

The guitarist will celebrate JM3 with an album release party at Patrician Hall in Schererville, Indiana on November 17. Marcinek plays with various Joe Marcinek Band formations throughout the fall including a run in the Midwest with Blades and Higgins between November 28 – December 1 and a series of shows in Florida spanning December 11 – 16.
