John Prine Performs On ‘Austin City Limits’

John Prine appeared on this weekend’s episode of Austin City Limits. The singer-songwriter was joined by Tyler Childers on a few songs that aired on the long-running PBS program.

Making his first ACL appearance since 2005, Prine and his band played several songs from the recently issued album, The Tree Of Forgiveness. Prine showcased new tunes “Knocking On Your Screen Door,” “Egg & Daughter Nite, Lincoln Nebraska, 1967 (Crazy Bone),” “Summer’s End,” “Caravan of Fools,” “The Lonesome Friends of Science,” “Boundless Love” and “When I Get To Heaven” while also fitting in classics such as a solo rendition of “Illegal Smile” and a full band “Lake Marie.”

Childers was brought out to duet on “Please Don’t Bury Me” and was given the stage to play his original “Lady May.” The episode concluded with Childers reemerging for a closing take on “Paradise.” Watch the full performance below:
