moe. continued their three-night stand at Chicago’s Thalia Hall on Friday. A night after dusting off their long-lost cover of “Take The Skinheads Bowling,” the Buffalo-born band continued to work in a portion of “Buster” that they left unfinished on Thursday.

An expansive take on Al Schnier’s “ATL” got their night in the Windy City going. It was the ninth version of the tune that was debuted back at Summer Camp 2012 and then sat on the shelf until last year. After fan-favorite “St. Augustine,” moe. delivered the sixth ever take on “Angel.” The rarity worked its way into “New Hope For The New Year,” one of a handful of songs that were played for the first time earlier this year at The Capitol Theatre. “Water” kicked off seamless stretch to close the set. “Litle Miss Cup Half Empty” was trotted out for the tenth time since 2015 and “Lazarus” put a period on the end of the opening frame.

A 25+ minute pairing of “Puebla” > “Happy Hour Hero” helped highlight the second set. “I Can Never Remeber” was the catalyst for a seamless stretch that would take the quartet through the rest of the stanza. The new Jim Loughlin original segued into the old-school “Time Ed” with moe. delivering a portion of “Buster” next. The snippet still left the tune incomplete, leaving the window open for them to finish it off tonight, as “Wind It Up” closed out the fourth set of the run. moe.’s two-song encore featured “Seat Of My Pants” and their third stab at Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” since its debut at this year’s Summer Camp.
