moe. Fits Rarities Into Milwaukee Show

moe. continued their Fall Tour on Wednesday night pulling into Milwaukee for a gig at the Turner Hall Ballroom. The Buffalo-birthed band fit a number of rarities and lesser-played tunes into their two-set show.

The quintet opened up their evening with a pair of surprises. First up came the Rob Derhak-penned “White Lightning Turpentine,” marking just the 36th time the tune has made its way into a setlist since its debut in 2012. Next, the five-piece reached back for “Again & Again,” unearthing the Tin Cans & Car Tires track for the first time since February 9, 2013. The band kept the theme going with “Calyphornya,” which saw action for just the seventh time since 2015 and a take on “Awesome Gary,” which has returned to semi-regular rotation after sitting on the shelf from 2000 to 2008.

The parade of deep cuts resumed after intermission as “Rainshine” got the second frame of the night going with its 12th rendering since 2014. After takes on the “Tambourine” and “Opium,” moe. looked to “lylelovit.” for the first time in over two years. Chuck Garvey’s “Where Does The Time Go?” followed. A pairing of fan-favorites, “Faker” and “Kids” closed out the stanza. moe.’s two-song encore opened with “Queen Of Everything” and closed with just the fourth cover of Pink Floyd’s “Time” since 2015.
