The latest installment of Phish‘s Live Bait series of free live archival compilations has been released. Phish Live Bait Vol. 15 features nine tracks recorded during the band’s two previous Riviera Maya destination events in Mexico. The 2019 edition of Phish Riviera Maya will be held from February 21 – 23.
Archivist Kevin Shapiro selected the material that made the cut for this compilation and all Live Bait installments. Up first is the geographically appropriate “Mexican Cousin” from January 17, 2016. Next comes an extended “The Moma Dance” from the same show along with a standout “Wolfman’s Brother” from January 13, 2017 and 20+ minute “Tweezer” > “Roggae” sequence from January 15, 2017. Live Bait Vol. 15 rolls on with a “Chalk Dust Torture” recorded on January 14, 2017 and a wild “Down With Disease” laid down on January 17, 2016. Also included are the “Ghost” > “Sand” pairing from the final night of Phish Riviera Maya ’17, the “Prince Caspian” > “Twist” > “Seven Below” from the first night of the 2017 event and a typically gorgeous “Slave To The Traffic Light” from January 17, 2016.
